Zac Efron took a break from his own holiday festivities with his family to write a special message to one of his fansites, Zefron.com.

The 21-year-old actor wrote, “I just wanted to send a quick thank you to everyone on Charismatic. I received some pretty incredible gifts for my birthday and Christmas lol… my family and I have been enjoying the messages. Especially the art smile. The birthday book is BY FAR the sweetest present I have ever received. Nothing has ever made me smile like flipping through letters, drawings, poems, and photographs of the cutest girls I’ve ever seen. Your kind words and enthusiasm are truly humbling. A million thanks, guys. You brought something very special to my 21st. Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone. I’m stoked to have so many friends on this awesome day. Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens: Barney’s Buddies

On-and-off-screen sweethearts Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron do some last minute Christmas shopping at Barney’s of New York in Los Angeles on Monday evening.

Vanessa, 20, was recently seen filming an Ecko Red commercial in L.A. and snuck in a little Christmas shopping herself without Zac.

The duo will be heading overseas to Tokyo, Japan for the last leg of HSM3 promo in January.

Zac Efron Brings Christmas to Mattel Children’s Hospital

Zac Efron gives back by bringing tons of children the spirit of Christmas at the Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA on Friday in Los Angeles.

The 21-year-old actor joined Gifts.com in giving presents out to all the patients at the hospital. Zac took the time to sign autographs and pose for pictures.

The 21-year-old Hairspray hunk stars as the younger version of Mike O’Donnell. The movie is about a guy whose life didn’t quite turn out how he wanted it to and wishes he could go back to high school and change it. He wakes up one day to find his wish came true and gets the chance to rewrite his life.

The film is set to hit theaters in April 2009 and co-stars Matthew Perry, Michelle Trachtenberg and Sonny With A Chance’s Sterling Knight.

Not only did Zac, 21, confess that he’s a gadget kind of guy, he also shared what the hardest thing about high school was for him was. He said, “Probably the academics. I was in all advanced classes, I took advanced placement English and history and that was pretty time consuming. I was very focused on that.”

The High School Musical leading man also shared that he couldn’t believe that he was in a movie (Hairspray) with actor Christopher Walken. He said, “I’ve enjoyed most of his movies at this point and he’s just a huge talent. I remember I was doing a table read and I just couldn’t believe that I was sitting so close to this guy. More than 1500 screaming and adoring fans showed up at the premiere at Sydney’s George Street cinemas.

“It’s very overwhelming,” Vanessa said at the Sydney premiere. “It’s incredible though, the fans are so amazing.”

“I love being a part of High School Musical, I wish I could do it forever but everyone’s got to grow up,” Zac said. “I’d love to try it all. I’ll see where the wind takes me.”
